The Difference Between Boyfriend Jeans and Men’s Jeans

Boyfriend jeans were originally worn by men and were cut differently. But just like with fedoras, collared shirts and suits, once women began to wear it, the more feminine version was developed. Ironically, boyfriend jeans are today women’s - men’s jeans.
If that wasn’t complicated enough, this will be. Boyfriend jeans have a look of men’s jeans when women wear them. Truth to be told, men’s jeans do not fit women. They hang a certain way on the body which doesn’t fit the shapely body of a woman. So what makes them different?
Certain details had to be changed so that boyfriend jeans would look right on women. Designers changed the details about the cut of the hips and switched fastener to give a feminine look.

Boyfriend jeans are very casual and usually have rolled up cuffs. They are loose fitting, slouchy and definitely imply a certain attitude. These jeans can be found in different colors, but the most common include gray, black and dark blue. Boyfriend jeans are often oversized and deliberately too long and this is the reason why the cuffs are rolled up, often exposing the ankles. Interestingly enough, men find women that wear them extremely attractive.
